Here you have it all boiled down - The best of 2010 from MyDenmarkTV.com. It's not easy to pick our absolute favourite moments from the past year, but a few moments that would have to make the list include the Copenhagen Carnival, Copenhagen Beer Festival, Distortion Festival (in particular managing to film a nearly 10 minute long interview with Distortion Founder Thomas Fleurquin while cycling!) and Kulturnatten ...just to name a few!

There were also some one-off moments like hanging out with Sebastian Overgaard from Street Dining and meeting Lars AP, author of Fucking Flink - his friendliness manifesto to Denmark. Our episode featuring Istedgade proved to be a hugely popular episode - which is gratifying since it is one of my favourite streets in Copenhagen.

In Episode 79 of MyDenmarkTV.com, with snow on the way (it started the day after filming this episode) and Christmas coming, we decided to turn our camera's on Copenhagen's Christmas markets (Christiania Julemarked) to separate the crap from the cool.

• Crap - a large portion of Nyhavn's Christmas market

• Cool - Christiania Julemarked. 

Then we really turn up the heat when we answer a viewer's question about family reunification laws in Denmark (familie sammenføring), which appears to be a hot topic. In spite of our best efforts to keep the discussion non-political, it proves to be simply impossible not to label a portion of the rules connected to this visa as highly discriminatory - if not racist. 

We also suggest Copenhagen Theater Circle as a good option for some English theater in Copenhagen, and cover some of the best fitness places in Copenhagen - including perhaps the cheapest - freshfitness.dk (a great deal and great equipment too), and tell you exactly what is what - and why.

An interview with the CEO of Vopium, an international company based out of Copengahen offering a VOIP service for customers around the world helps round out the episode.

The latest episode of MyDenmarkTV.com (Episoe #74) is rather relaxed and less "chaotic" than the previous couple.

However, in spite of the quickly shortening days and the onslaught of cold and rainy weather, the end of October is bringing with it plenty of 'warm and wonderful' events. Among them are CPH: DOX (Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival), Womex World Music Festival and TBEX Europe (International Travel Blogging Conference in Copenhagen).

One of the cool aspects of CPH: DOX, aside from over 200 fantastic documentary films from around the world, is the opportunity to visit some of Copenhagen's more traditional theaters - of which there are quite a number around the city. A few of them include: Grand Theater (www.grandteatret.dk), Dagmar Theater (www.dagmar.dk), Gloria Theater (www.gloria.dk) and my personal favourite, Posthus Theater (www.posthusteatret.dk).

Besides current events, we present a simple resource comparing 3 online digital photo services (www.digifotopriser.dk). Finally, we help you find those ever-stylish (in Denmark) rainboots - a peculiar fashion item (yes, they really are a fashion item in Denmark) that has been in style for years and years... and likely will continue to be for years and years to come. If you're looking for 'rainboots with style', Isle Jacobsen is arguably the leader in Denmark.

We made it to Kulturnatten in Copenhagen for this episode (#73) of MyDenmarkTV.com - and I have to say this is one of my favourite episodes - lots of action. Sabine put together a gruelling programme for the team - and they managed it with style (and a smile - check out the episode to see exactly how Sabine's smile can open locked doors). Culture Night (Kulturnatten) is the annual October evening in Copenhagen dedicated to Danish culture, as the streets are flooded with people as the shops and more importantly museums and cultural and political institutions across the city throw open their doors to the public.

Once again proving our street culture credibility, we caught up with a flash mob at Hovedbanegaard (Copenhagen Central Station) - as if Street Dining in Episode 72 wasn't enough), then headed over to Black Diamond to watch some cannon shots, and finally ended up at the Copenhagen prison.

We uncover a truly money saving resource called www.sweetdeal.dk - which is well worth signing up for in order to get unique offers to your inbox regularly - each worth 50% off (as a minimum).

To top it all off, we interview the main organizer behind the Gay and Lesbian Film festival. And as a bonus we throw in a couple of apartment rental tips, and equally importantly tell you about an organisation called Lejernes LO (www.llo.dk) that can help you deal with a misbehaving landlord (I can speak from personal experience using this organisation, regarding this issue.

The Street Dining segment of the latest episode of MyDenmarkTV.com (Episode #72) is one of my all-time favourites. We met up with Sebastian Overgaard to experience just what it was like - it's quite likely that you've never experienced anything quite like it, but it really was something that brought hundreds of smiles to faces passing by. A truly wonderful experience. It's really the simplest of concepts - requiring just a small does of confidence and courage, but bringing wonderous results. Even the police stopped by to say 'hi'!

Kulturnatten (Culture night) happens every year in October in Copenhagen, so we caught up with one of the organisers to hear more about it. The annual event sees thousands of people hit the streets of Copenhagn as loads of museums and other culture institutions (oftentimes normally closed to the public) throw open their doors to the crowds. Simply to wander around the streets soaking up the atmosphere is a great experience in itself, even if you don't bother purchasing a Kulturnatten pass to get into the various buildings.

Finally, we review a great Danish language resouce - www.ordbogen.com - and we wrap up by discussing a few interesting regional Danish food in Denmark.

Well, this week we took in Denmark's biggest annual Festival - Copenhagen Jazz Festival during Episode #58 of MyDenmarkTV.com. That it is the biggest festival in Denmark may come as a bit of a surprise since it really doesn't attract the same level of attention as other festivals, particularly the Roskilde Festival. But at 240,000 guests its got the Roskilde Festival handily beat in terms of guests.

Actually, this is part of the 2 part answer to the question: How do you know its summer in Denmark? (1. Roskilde Festival 2. Copenhagen Jazz Festival)

There are so many concerts every year at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival that it's hard to know where to begin. There are a good number of public concerts for free, though I'd say (to generalize) they are not the best ones. If you really want to experience the cutting edge, you've got to shell out a few kroner. And there's a good number of international names every year - it truly is a top-notch, world class festival.

Well, Sankt Hans Aften for this year has come and gone. We grabbed our cameras (actually, we only had 1 camera for this episode) and headed to the nearby beach by bike - Amager Strand - which given the great weather of the day seemed like the right party to choose (and it was!). There are a loads of them to choose from in Copenhagen every June 23.  We kept it light and entertaining, with lots of great footage from the bonfires.

Now that was a party! The Copenhagen Distortion Festival was crazier than ever this year with an estimated 90,000+ participants roaming the streets (and clubs) of Copenhagen from Wednesday to Sunday last week. It really was something to experience.

We did our part which can be seen in Episode #54 of MyDenmarkTV.com - besides lots of party footage from the streets, we actually managed to film a 10+ minute interview with Distortion Festival Founder and Visionary Thomas Fleurquin WHILE CYCLING. You really couldn't have dreamed a better scenario for an interview in literally the middle of the party.

Every year I look forward to the first few days of June when the Copenhagen Distortion Festival hits the streets. This year it's from June 2-6, 2010. If you are living in a hole or a similar dark space in Copenhagen and somehow missed the party in the past few years, understand that in 2009 there were over 60 events attended by nearly 40,000. It really is a hell of a party - though obviously the weather has a big impact on how it all plays out. My personal favourite 2 days are the Nørrebro and Vesterbro street parties, which I never miss if I can help it.

We're filming an episode of MyDenmarkTV.com in during Nørrebro Distortion on Thursday, and we've even lined up an interview Mr. Distortion himself, Thomas Fleurquin, who is the mastermind behind the whole thing - from when it was a tiny little bit of madness attended by a select few party people back in 2001 to now. I'm really looking forward to chatting with him about it.

This week was all about the beer in Episode #50 of MyDenmarkTV.com. We spent a few hours at the annual Copenhagen Beer Festival (Øl Festival) that happened last week.

So let me make a few quick comments about this episode.

Firstly, I think this was my favourite episode so far, and not just because of the beer. We've been working hard to bring our production and editing up to the next level, and I think this episode truly succeeded. Of course, that also demands something of the hosts to make it possible, and we're trying!

Secondly, I've become a huge fan of Danish beer over the years - and I am not talking about Carlsberg. There are many Danish micro-breweries these days producing more and better beer than ever. If you ask me, by far the best one we tasted during this episode was Bøgedal, which is brewed in the most low-tech manner possible, making each batch unique. It really was something else to taste, so it wasn't just the lack of technology in the production that made it special. I'll definitely be returning to the beer festival next year.

Episode #49 of MyDenmarkTV.com is up...this one we shot in Fælledparken initially, but then had to add in some additional green-screening when thanks to some microphone problems we had during the shoot - but in end everything worked out, as we still ended up with loads of good 'film' from Fælledparken on May 1. We also took some time to answer a bunch of viewer questions in the last part of the episode.
